Why Bulgaria? Why to choose Bulgaria as your gateway to EU
After the collapse of Communism in 1989, Bulgaria’s population plummeted from 12 million to just over 7 million. This ‘brain-drain’ had a huge effect on the country, particularly during the 1990’s. However, after joining the EU as a full member in 2007, policy makers have now seized the opportunity to reverse that trend and are actively encouraging immigration to help boost the economy. Today, the policy of the Bulgarian government is to pro-actively encourage foreign investment and interest in the Bulgarian economy. Not surprisingly then, Bulgaria’s immigration process is now the quickest and easiest out of all the EU countries. Remember – once you have been issued a Bulgarian residency card (which only takes 3 months), you have complete freedom of movement to any country within the EU (some countries have set restrictions which will soon be removed) This includes: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom Bulgaria has one of the lowest taxes: 10% corporate income tax rate; 0% in high-unemployment areas In addition, Bulgaria is a member of EU and is situated in Southeastern Europe, bordering Greece and Turkey to the South, the Black Sea to the East, Romania to the North and Serbia and Macedonia to the West. Being one of the newest EU members, Bulgaria is a country with a fast developing economy and great business climate. Bulgaria has excellent education, both school and higher education. All public schools in Bulgaria are free of charge. Prices of the real estate properties vary depending on the region(from EUR 10 - to EUR 1500 per sq.m.) In certain cases (see "Investment programmes") your business will receive privileged attention by the local municipality and the government. You will benefit from tax reliefs and governmental help for your business. |
